Viva Connections
Microsoft research shows that almost 60% of people feel less connected to their team after shifting to a remote workplace.
This challenges all organization because it impacts how organizations operate For example, new hires who never visited the office or met their colleagues face-to-face help them interacts with their colleagues.
Viva Connections fights this disconnect for remote workers. The tool is a single-entry point for employee engagement and internal communications accessible through Microsoft Teams.
Viva Connections is a curated, branded employee destination built on Microsoft 365 capabilities like SharePoint. This module ensures employees can work in a digital workplace that provides customized and valuable information. Viva Connections enables users to discover and search relevant content, sites, and news from across the organization right from the Team’s app bar. Viva Connections also incorporates your organization’s brand and identity directly in Teams.
1.Highlight specific resources: Viva Connections uses the company-curated global navigation links along with personalized content like sites and news, which are powered by Microsoft Graph(Microsoft Graph exposes REST APIs and client libraries to access data on the Microsoft cloud services). Global navigation is configured in SharePoint and accessed by selecting the icon in the Teams app bar.
2. Navigate intranet resources in Teams: Navigate all modern SharePoint sites, pages, and news within Teams without losing context. All files will open in the Teams file preview window.
3. Search for intranet content in Teams: On the home page, you can search for intranet content in SharePoint by searching in the Teams search bar. Search results can be viewed on a SharePoint site in the browser.
4. Share content easily: Features in the SharePoint site header dynamically display tools users can leverage for collaboration depending on the type of content being viewed. Tasks such as sharing a link to a SharePoint page in a Teams chat are much easier.
Viva Insights
Individuals, managers, and leaders benefit from Viva Insights’ tailored, actionable insights.
For example, each employee receives personal experiences and insights that are only accessible to them to help with securing time for regular breaks, focused work, learning, and developing relationships with coworkers. Managers and executives may view trends at the team and organizational levels, as well as recommendations for improving productivity and well-being. To protect personal privacy, the data is aggregated and anonymized.
Additionally, a new dashboard enables organizations to combine employee feedback from LinkedIn Glint with Viva Insights’ collaboration data. This data helps leaders accurately identify where teams struggle, adjust work norms accordingly, and quantify the impact of those changes over time.
Customers can include data from third-party services like Zoom, Slack, Workday, and SAP SuccessFactors in addition to data and signals from the Microsoft ecosystem. The redesigned Glint and Viva Insights dashboard, as well as the Viva Insights app in Teams, are now available in public preview.

Microsoft Viva Topics is an AI-powered solution that automatically organizes content across your systems into related topics such as projects, products, processes, and customers. Experts can rapidly curate and share knowledge through simple, highly customizable web pages. Viva Topics is an extension of Microsoft Search.
Viva uses AI to understand a customer’s data from Microsoft and other third-party services such as ServiceNow and Salesforce. Viva Topics automatically surfaces topic cards within conversations and documents across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Click on a card with a topic pages’ related documents, conversations, videos, and people. Viva Topics is available as an add-on to Microsoft 365 commercial plans.
